December 2007

One resolution is to keep this up to date!!!

I've got loads to do on this site and must get my arse in gear to fix it.

Since February of last year quite a bit as happend? I@ll update later.

February 2007

Not really been keeping this updated

From August onwards I've been working at Pipex or more explicitly Pipex Business Services. I hold the role of Director Customer Operations. Even when I was running all the escalations and complaints for Cable & Wireless I'm not sure I haven't worked quite so hard for such a sustained period of time.

Managed to get a Weekend away this month. Went to Seville with Louise. It rained A LOT. And it was a bit of building site. This was primarily due to the new MEtro Tram system being built through the middle of the city.

July 2006

Well July was quite busy with a few ad hoc consultancy bits as well as some graphic design work

Also more holiday!! but can't remember where exactly. Also had some interesting interviews those of you who appear to be reading from a small industrial estate in Stoke Mandeville will no doubt guess what one of them was about.

August 2006

Yeah August was mainly chilling

With the exception of some major printing projects for a Garden Furniture company. August is also the same month that I have to start working. In fact I'm keeping this as up to date as possible because I'm getting so many hits from the staff of NILDRAM it's incredible. Although I do find it odd that a company based in Stoke Mandeville whose Internet traffic comes through a building called AZTEC house can have it's service labeled as being from the Canary Islands.

Well I have to hand it to someone my hit count has gone through the roof. I can't help thinking I'm going to have to keep this site as well informed as possible. At this rate I'll be getting more hits than the Hoff!

June 2006

Ok so in June went to Ireland for a week! What an amazing place!

We landed at Knock airport and hired a car to travel up and down the West Coast! We B&B's a few nights, spent a few nights at a fantastic hotel called the Renvyle House Hotel. Food was amazing and so were the views. Everyone told me it would rain, rain rain. I came back with a tan had a couple of days on the beach.

Went up to Donegal to meet with Louise's family and had a great time. There are some amazing views and outstanding coastline with really fantastic beaches.

Apart from yet another holiday also managed to finally get myself accepted as an iStock photographer. Man those guys took my pictures to bits. Anyway go buy some of my pictures from here.

May 2006

Ok so I deffo left C&W on the 27th. I haven't exactly been looking very hard for work if I'm honest. But I have setup a company called OhsO digital. It's a creative company undertaking Graphic Design projects, company branding and Web site Design and build. It also has a couple of other divisions which include OhsO hosted and OhsO interim. OhsO hosted is as the name suggests a division that concentrates on providing hosted services for customers web pages and e-mail services.

Other than had a few trips abroad, Egypt and somewhere else I can't remember. Did some diving in Egypt and Louise came too she actually enjoyed her first couple of trips underwater so you never know a shared hobby!! Also been to the gym a lot and actually spent time chilling!

April 2006

Ok so I'm not sure if I work for C&W anymore. HR have failed to let me know and currently I think I should have left on the 27th. Getting all sorts of bad messages back from guys in C&W it's clearly become a very depressing place to work. But when your letting go of that many people then it's not always going to be great. It also appears the new management team have slipped seamlessly into the "Lies, Damn Lies and Stats" way of running the company, so the provide process is fixed hooray I say.

Spent Easter in France with Louise's family. It was good, had a minor challenge getting home, the Channel Tunnel went on a go slow for technical reasons which meant we would have had to wait possibly 6 to 8 hours to get on a train back. So we invoked plan B and went back to Lille for 2 days.

I seem to be very busy doing a lot of graphic design stuff at the moment which is great except I can't Invoice for it until i have left bloody C&W. Got an interesting commission from a company wanting a logo in the style of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. That was actually very interesting to research. I'll put up the finished work on the OhsO Web site. When I've finished (started it) it ...:-(

Oh and I'm divorced!!!! at last.

Sorry on a final note. Iv' e been asked several times about the backdrop to this site. I went to a pub in Teddington as I went through the entrance I saw this amazing black and wallpaper. So I took a picture of it and then spent a couple of hours re mastering it in Photoshop!!! I think the pub was called "The Anglers Arms".

March 2006

Back in February I ordered a new Laptop from Alien ware. I already have one Alienware machine but getting access to it for work was not always convenient. Anyway it arrived.

It's not a laptop? It's a luggable, but bloody hell it's powerful! The MJ12-7700a.

I've loaded on a whole suite of new software including the full bundle of ADOBE Web Developer and some other Graphics tools. I have resisted loading any games on it yet!!!! I have all the breaking strain of a hot KitKat time will tell if it stays a game free machine.

The clock is ticking on Redundancy at C&W!!!

February 2006

So a bit more time spent on this site and a bit more time working. Life at C&W is getting progressively worse. The new management is probably what the company needs. but the relentless "jobs for the boys" attitude means there are people being put into roles that they are patently incapable of doing.

January 2006

You may have gathered already I'm going to launch this as a new site. Which means amongst other things January has been sitting down and building this site. Have to say this has been a really interesting learning curve for me.

This site got launched in Beta end of January and I'm probably going to need to spend lots more time getting it up to scratch.
